Ingredients

225g soft butter, 350g all-purpose flour, 125g white sugar very fine, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional) 1 vanilla sugar, 100 g almonds, red jam.

Preparation

Mix the butter, sugar, egg, almond extract in a food processor or with a mixer. Sift the flour and baking powder together and gradually add to the mixture, continue mixing . Also add the salt. Remove the dough from the food processor or blender and squeezed briefly. Wrap in foil and place in the fridge for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 160 ° C. Grease the baking trays or place baking paper on it. Remove the dough from the fridge and cut small pieces off where you can make a sausage with it. Put the dough back in the fridge. Use a piece of baking paper to form fingers, flat sausages. Take a rounded knife and press the tip of the knife to make a spot to press the almond nut in to the dough. This is the fingernail. Press the middle of the finger in order to form a knuckle. Use a knife to cut lines in de fingers. So they get that natural finger look. Place the formed fingers on the baking sheet and bake them for 20-25 minutes. Once they are colored, light golden brown, get them out of the oven to cool down. Once they are cooled down you can color the fingernails with red jam. Now they become creepy enough like real fingers.
